I'm a really laid back person and not a whole lot gets to me. I just go with the flow and roll with the punches for the most part. I get really dramatic whenever I'm excited and use hand gestures to emphasize what I say, because that's the best thing to do ever. It's gets your point across better and people think you're silly. :D

I love doing lots of stuff. I like going shopping with my girl friends. I find it cute and adorable when they get excited over clothes and silly things that I have no interest in. (Yes, I know, weird huh?) I also like rock climbing with my friends, going out to eat, watching T.V. shows with people, and just overall hanging out. I really enjoy playing video games, especially 2D Fighters and Rock Band. I also love riding my motorcycle wherever because it's so much fun! I do need to get my license though, I still ride on just a motorcycle permit. I'm so lazy...

Hmmmm, where do I start? Well I'm originally from Monterey, Ca where I grew up until I was 17. Then I went to college at Arizona State University. I'm a 33 year old gentleman that has lived between Lodi and the foothills a good majority of my life except my young years when my family moved cross country. I spent 8 years in the USMC. Honoroble Discharge. Cooked professionlally for over 20 years then got out of the business, too much stress/work. Now work as a Maintenance Super for a large N Ca investment Co. Love to bird hunt and shoot sporting clays for fun. Cabin at Tahoe (Parents) summer mostly. Love amusement parks, roller coasters in particular. Well well, where to start? I am the type of guy who will always choose salty and spicy food over sweets. I guess you could say the same for the majority of my preferences in life. I enjoy excitement and passion, something different then the norm. However, at the same time I am somebody who is very compassionate and sweet and expect the same from a significant other. I am very understanding and concerned with other peoples feelings and have lots of patience. Most of my friends tell me that I care about other people too much, to the point that it is a fault. My biggest passions in life are cooking, surfing, and traveling. And incorporating all three in one day is my idea of heaven. Down to earth, do it yourself type of guy. Who values friendships and is willing to go the extra mile. I love spending time in the outdoors, hiking, biking and camping. I am open to new experiences. I'm a girl, pretty simple. I like spontaneous trips & i don't take 5 hours to get ready. I really do enjoy the simpler things in life. I recently broke out of a trend that has taken over the world. I still believe i was born in the wrong era. I'm outgoing and not afraid to speak my mind. I don't normally mix well with super shy people as i enjoy someone that can keep up and take control. I am a coffee lover for sure and I would not be here were it not for God. Maybe thats where I should start. God is everything to me; not to say I live at the Church and do everything I can to participate in it but who I am, what I'm good at and what I enjoy are all the product of God. I pursue what I love for Him and I am always open to be His tool. If there is a man out there that God intends for me to be with, so be it, and if not- no problem at all. I'm fulfilled enough with other facets of life, right now my family especially.

I enjoy teaching and practicing taiji (for 26 years), swimming, hiking, bicycling, camping, cross-country skiing, travel, gardening, arts (museums, concerts, plays), books. I haven't danced much for several years, but used to do lots of West Coast swing, Nightclub 2-step, Cha Cha, Salsa, etc., and would love do it again. I can seem rather intellectual at times, but it's just a ruse. I have a good sense of humor, and am spontaneous and adventuresome as often as I am structured and routine. I put lots of life's adventures on hold while launching a second career and am ready to do some catching up.

I am a full-time high school teacher here in Rocklin. I spend a lot of time directing plays and teaching classes. On any given day I could be acting on stage. I could be teaching. I could be out riding my motorcycle to the beach or through the country. I could be in front of the tube watching football. Or working out. I'm a friendly, easy going guy, and I suppose my good friends would describe me that way. I have a curiousity that keeps me interested in all that life has to offer, yet I have a deep appreciation for living simply, and enjoying the little things. Not a huge partier, but love to spend a relaxing evening goofing around with friends. If I could I would travel regularly, and see more of the world.

Time to update, lol. Some people think I can be cocky because of the, I'm not at all I just have been through alot and it has taught me who I am. Once you get to know me you will see how down to earth I really am and how faithful I am to my friends. My name is the Marcus. I like to have fun by traveling to new places and seeing what is new in the rocklin area. I been in the area for a few months now. It seems like a good place to live. So I have now been asked on many occasions about my ex husband. I am not the typical single mom or the typical young divorced woman. My ex and i had known each other since we were 8 years old. We got married first then pregnant. All done the right way. I have no feelings one way or the other about my ex, he is irrelivant. So he will not be in the picture and there is no worry about me going back. Im not an idiot.

My son is the funniest person i know and he is incredibly laid back. He is like the easiest baby in the world. He doesnt cry unless really hungry or tired. He loves playing by himself, but if he wants to play with me he will let me know. Literally he will push his ball into my lap. My son is with me every minute of everyday and it will always be like that. We are a package deal.

I am really looking for someone who can understand that my son comes first and always will. I am looking for more than just sex, i can get that anywhere if i wanted. I want long term and commitment. Im originally from the sunny, and polluted, city of Dallas, TX and am currently living in northern Cali due to work.

I've spent a decent part of my life without a real focus and mostly gone with the flow. I tend to do random things and i follow my heart. I'm of the mind that if something doesn't at least come at least a little naturally in the academic world that it shouldn't be what you are focusing on...that's how I ended up an Anthropology major during college.

Well, there is too much about me to explain in a little box so here are the basics about me.

I'm loving, compassionate and caring. I love to give flowers for no reason. I also like to go out and do fun things like random trips to Tahoe or day trips theme parks.

I like looking at the stars relaxing with a glass of red wine.

At present I find myself interested in 'Philosophy.' From a very young age, however, I was interested in a range of taboo subjects, among which were reincarnation, astrology, spirit communication, and aliens. This is despite (or because of?!) the fact that I was raised in an extremely conservative, evangelical Christian home.

I was also, from a very young age, deeply engrossed in an attempt to sort out the subtleties of Christian metaphysics, and so was always carefully examining various canonical and non-canonical scriptures on which that faith is based.

I'm a big fan of the Continuum Concept, which is basically the idea that the bulk of our social disorders come from a disruption of our innate biological expectations, especially including (but not limited to) not enough time in the "in arms phase" (being held as children).

I'm also a fan of the ideas outlined in Marnia Robinson's book Cupid's Poisoned Arrow. The basic idea she proposes is that soothing intimate touch (not hot sex) can restore psychological/emotional balance. She outlines the ideas in a short video here. If you are interested in the science of sex, I think you will find that most interesting.

I have an Associates degree from a community college, which is not at all impressive considering my awesome test scores and all the scholarship money I got when I graduated from high school. But that's a story in itself...

One of my favorite films is Into the Wild and Alex comes to the realization that "happiness is only real when shared." I believe that!
I like to be alone sometimes, often in the woods on a hike, but I cannot live without others. I love people and open my heart and life to just about anyone. I would rather risk being hurt than distrusting someone who deserves it.

A Closer Look
I have a melancholic disposition however I am usually quite uplifting, always funny, and generally kind.

I'm no angel, the dirt and mud is where I belong and I do not get my head in the clouds. I'm earthy; meaning I like hard work and getting dirty if I have to. Morally superiority is not for me; Iâ??m certainly not above a crass joke here and there. Also, witty, intelligent, intuitive, a good kisser, and very self-conscious when eating cereal â??I'll go into another room if i can't be alone! Sarcasm is an old friend of mine, along with acceptance, dark humor, and empathy. And beer.

I try to write but I never stay consistent; I have two blogs on blogspot (rorychristopher, and historyandnarrative) and I am working on two novels.

I am a great guy who loves his friends and especially his family. I have an awesome loving family!

Orthodox Christianity is my home, I would never leave it, and I'm looking for a woman who is Orthodox or interested in learning. It's a beautiful religion and the path to peace and love with the world and one's self.

What can I say, the best way to describe me is probably as an introspective nerd. I like movies, books, and computers; and prefer to spend a lot of my free time relaxing at home. But I'm not a die-hard nerd. No Star Trek, Renaissance Fairs, or super hero comic books for me. I'm also trying to teach myself to be a better photographer (digital only at the moment. I love film, but it's too much work).

I'm not the best conversationalist in the world, but if you want to discuss politics, economics, international affairs or something else that I think I know a bit about, I'm fairly animated. If its about drinking, dancing, fashion, wild parties, or anything else I don't know that much about (yes, my life has been a bit boring), then I tend to keep quiet and listen. My sense of humor can be a bit dark sometimes (but not all the time), and I love to watch stand-up. Some of my favorite comics are Bill Burr and Christopher Titus.

I occasionally like to go for day-hikes during the summer, or bike rides, and if I have a companion, then trips to San Francisco or other locations are definitely more interesting and likely. I'm a die-hard San Jose Sharks (hockey) fan, and I like to get down to San Jose for games occasionally as well.

If you've made it this far, let me say what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a woman that I find attractive, both mentally and physically. You should be relatively slim, my age or younger, and of any race and height. Honesty and integrity are absolutely key for me. No smokers, no drug users, and no one who drinks more than occasionally. If you think going to clubs is still fun, we're probably not a match (I like the music, just not the noise). I'm more than willing to go slow and start as acquaintances, but I hope to eventually find a long-term relationship. Finally, while I am not sure that I will ever want kids at this point (although I might with the right person), I am not looking to date anyone with children.
